Anxious? Use These Natural Effective Remedies
Feeling anxious is a normal reaction anyone has because of the kind of disorderly world we live in. Anxiety pushes you to be alert about the potential danger around you and helps you weigh risks.
Even though anxiety helps you prepare and manage the situation, it can quickly become something you struggle with every day. That’s why you need to check your anxiety level before it gets out of hand.
You can try out the following tips to reduce anxiety naturally.
Eat a Healthy Diet
Eating very sugary or chemically processed foods can cause a change in your mood. Besides this, when you feel dehydrated or have low sugar levels, it affects your temperament.
Watch your eating habits if you feel more anxious after eating. Also, ensure that you eat natural, whole foods, drink lots of water, and avoid processed foods.
Consume plenty of fresh leafy green vegetables, especially dark greens like kale and Swiss chard. Green vegetables contain the powerful mineral magnesium which is often referred to as nature's tranquilizer. Eat at least two portions of fresh greens per day. If you can’t eat huge salads prepare soups, stews, and smoothies instead.

Get Some Sleep
One common sign of anxiety is insomnia. Try to make sleep a top priority,
- avoid caffeine or eating a large meal before going to bed
- don’t use any screens in bed, including your TV, phone, tablet, or computer
- go to sleep at a set time every night
- keep your room cool and dark
- write a journal entry of your worries before sleeping
A regular workout routine is excellent for body your body and mind. For some people, it helps to ease anxiety for hours after the workout has ended.
Exercising regularly is just as great as taking medication to relieve anxiety.
Cut Out Caffeine
You may have to cut down on caffeinated foods and drinks if you suffer from chronic anxiety. That’s because caffeine may cause you to feel extremely nervous and jittery, which is terrible when you’re anxious.
Studies show that caffeine may lead to anxiety disorders and panic attacks, and in some cases, it may worsen it. You should avoid caffeine to improve anxiety.
Drink Chamomile Tea
Chamomile tea is a popular home remedy used for relaxation and inducing sleep. Research has shown that chamomile may help fight against generalized anxiety disorder.
This disorder is marked by chronic free-floating anxiety and symptoms as sweating, tension, trembling, lightheadedness, or irritability that have lasted for more than six months.
Even though alcohol has natural soothing effects, your anxiety may flare up severely after the buzz is over. A shot of whiskey or a glass of wine may help ease tension in, short term.
However, if you continue relying on it without getting to the source of the problem, you may become dependent on alcohol.
Nicotine and other chemicals in cigarettes help in stressful periods. Still, taking a drag when you’re anxious is merely a quick fix, just like with alcohol.
Studies indicate that smoking changes the way your mind processes feelings of anxiety and may worsen it in the long run. Besides, early smoking habits may increase your risk of developing an anxiety disorder later in life.
Aromatherapy is a type of treatment where you use fragrant plant extracts and essential oils in warm baths or massage. You can also inhale it directly or put some in your diffuser.
The benefits of using aromatherapy include helping you relax, sleep well, lower heart rate and blood pressure, and improve your mood.
Some essential oils to use in easing anxiety are grapefruit, bergamot, clary sage, ylang-ylang, and lavender.
Practice deep breathing
When you feel anxious, your breathing tends to be shallow and fast. It can cause you to feel dizzy, with your heart rate rising, or even experiencing a panic attack.
To restore your regular breathing pace and relieve anxiety, take in slow, deep breaths in short intervals.
The purpose of meditating is to help you clear your mind from all the chaos and instill a sense of calm and consciousness of the present moment.
Meditation is one of the best practices for stress and anxiety relief. Try to meditate for 30 minutes every day to deal with anxiety and control your emotions.
