Stress can lead to low mood, chronic fatigue and anxiety therefore, if you want to perform effectively in the workplace, pay close attention to your health and wellbeing.

Working from home can also impact your emotional, physical and mental wellbeing. With that being said, let’s talk about some of the reasons why health and wellness in the workplace are important.
Health and wellness plans in the workplace improve employee behavior
Health and wellness education can help to boost employee healthy habits. For example, encouraging employees to take short breaks instead of sitting all day and waiting for a lunch break. Taking periodic breaks can actually improve non-exercise activity thermogenesis which is the calories that we burn when we are doing every day things like walking to the bathroom, cooking, eating, cleaning, and working at the laptop.
Simple workplace habits could help staff members to continue these healthy habits outside of the workplace.
Another example, in 2018, Intrigue Media conducted a short study in their office in London. They left signs around the office that encouraged staff members to drink water and take periodic breaks, every 30 minutes, all staff members took a five to 10-minute break. They were also encouraged to walk outside for five minutes or ten minutes.
Intrigue Media also sent out a memo that stated that all employees must take a walk outside at least three times during the working day.
100 percent of employees reported feeling more energetic and less lethargic throughout the day, they also took up a walking habit outside the workplace.
