When I first started to play with the idea of working from home as a freelance writer, it was 2007 and I came across a platform called Triond. It was similar to Medium in the sense that users create written content and they get paid based on how many people read their articles. There were multiple Triond-owned publications on the site for various niches such as Health, Beauty, Parenting, Art, and Tech. I made my first $100 as a writer on that platform and one day it just disappeared without warning.

About Triond

Triond was an online publishing platform that was founded in 2006, its main office was in Israel but there is no information online about the founders of the company, a quick company search will reveal that the company no longer exists. The website domain name is still up for grabs and the online publishing platform that was one of the first of its kind has been totally forgotten like it never existed.

How Did Triond Work?

Initially, Triond offered one stream of income which came from their own revenue share advertising system. Those days, I had no idea what CPM was therefore, I don’t know how much they paid but I do remember that in my first month, I earned more than $100. I had only produced eight articles that month about health and weight loss and I made no attempt to share the content because I was completely clueless at that time. In fact, Triond did all the work, they shared your content, promoted the site and the users on the site were extremely active.

At one point the platform offered video upload and audio upload options however, they disappeared after some time.

When I realized that the money was coming in thick and fast, I upped my game and began writing one article per day. In my first few months, I was earning about $600 per month from the platform.

Some years later, Triond introduced Google Adsense to the site and this allowed users with Adsense accounts to connect to Triond to earn through Google as well. I noticed that the introduction of Google Adsense…
